• August 20th - Pissed off

So haven't written on this for almost 3 months. Over the summer I went to Vegas for two weeks to play the Main Event. I busted on the 2nd day with JJ vs AK with a short stack. Then I went to Greece for 3 weeks.

Since I got back I've been given a reminder of how fucking annoying online MTT's are. I just played 5 hours in Full Tilt's $535 FTOPS Main Event only to bust out on the bubble with 99 vs 55 on a table full of useless fish in a pot that would have given me a really decent shot at a big cash. FUCK!

A friend of mine suggested it would be a good idea to 8-table the Full Tilt $0.5-$1 games. I might give it a shot and see how I do. If not that then I guess I'll jump straight back into the grind that is $1-$2, playing accross the sites.

    Bedtime.

  • May 28th - What happens when I'm tired

So today in an omaha hand I get As10sxx in the BB. Flop comes KJJ with 2 spades. SB checks I check behind. Turn comes Qs. Goes check check. Rivers a blank and he bets pot, which is $4 since there's been no betting so far.
I proceed to FLAT CALL, not realising I've hit a royal flush. Worst part is that not only did he have KKxx and was slow-playing the nut full house, but we both had 200BB stacks.

Even though I had this horror moment of stupidity I think I ended tonight's session up, which is always nice.

  • 24th May - Another big day in Omaha

Today I had another big day in Omaha. See stats below:

    http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w302/perrydiddle/Omahastats2.jpg

Here are some of the bigger hands:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1130250 ---- I had a read on this player and felt pretty sure he didn't have a set. He actually had a bigger hand than I thought and didn't think he was strong enough to call my push after his initial check-raise. I was only a slight favorite when the money went in and was lucky to hold.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1130259 ----Here we split the pot 75% of the time. But of the 25% we don't, I am a favorite with around 16% chance to win to his 9%.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1130263 ----Here I'm a big favorite. I'll win this around 70% of the time.

I had a few losing hands but none of them as big as these and none where I feel I made errors in my play.

I also played a couple of multi's but since winning the series ticket I've been running badly in all my multi's and I think I'll take a break from playing them until the start of June.

Since I won the wsop seat I've been on a bit of a downswing at Hold 'em. However, I've been running really well at Omaha which makes up for it. Today I had my best session at omaha to date. Here are todays stats:

    http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w302/perrydiddle/Omahastats1.jpg

I paid for all my Vegas stuff this week (Hotel, flights and the ticket) so that's all sorted. I'm going to start playing live alot more at the different places round Glasgow. I used to play live all the time but stopped for a while because all my money was online but now i'm going to start up again.

Going to get some dinner and watch the Champions League final now, I might be back online later to play some Hold 'em. The games are alot better later at night so hopefully I can turn my holdem stats around starting tonight.

  • 12th May

Still on a bit of a high from winning the WSOP ticket. I spent the day not playing poker for a change. Headed into town for lunch and then spent ages online looking at flights and hotels in Vegas. Still not sure where I'll stay.

Then tonight I played the midnight tourney's on Party Poker, Pokerstars and Full Tilt. I final tabled the Party one and cashed in 7th for $998.75.

Multi's have been going so well that I've not really concentrated on cash games much, so after my exams I'm going to read up a bit, watch a few videos and hit the $1-$2 tables.

My exam is on Monday the 21st so after this weekend I'm going to have to put in a solid week of study. Which means not a lot of poker. I haven't even looked at uni stuff for a year so it's going to be a bit of a shock getting back into it, but I'll give it a good go.

I'm going to play the Stars million on Sunday (along with a couple of other Sunday major's) and that'll be my last big session until after the exam on the 21st, which I'll have to pass if I want to get into my final year.

    GL me, GG poker...for now.

Online bankroll: $19927.76 (Including the world series entrance fee which Pokerstars put into my account so I can buy the ticket myself)

  • 11th May - WSOP '07

So last night I came home and came 3rd in the Partypoker midnight tourney for around $2000.

But wait.......there's more. I then went on to win a seat in the main event at the world series.

    Peace out,

  • 10th May

Final tabled the Stars $10 re-buy and came 7th out of 1126 people for $1227.

Was well annoyed that I went out against a complete donk who called my shove from the SB with A2 suited and knocked me out. I had 68 suited and couldn't believe he called. I knew he was playing badly but I hadn't realised how big his calling range was in that spot. The table was super-weak and that pot would have set me up nicely for a bigger score.

Whatever, off to bed, pissed off once more. (First prize would have been $9k)

Bankroll: $6577.71 (online) + $6500 (winging it's way to my bank accounts)

    -Richard

EDIT: I've realised that it seems as though I'm moaning all the time in this. All in all I'm having a very good run just now, (long may it continue) and I'm don't want to sound like I'm complaining.
It's more like venting, I just get annoyed when I get far in multi's and don't finish first. It's incredibly frustrating. Anyway, point is I'm venting, not complaining.

  • 7th May

I had another decent score last night for $4k. Came 2nd in the 18k G'teed on Party Poker.

I'm pretty pleased with it apart from the fact that heads up I was up against a complete donk who managed to win himself the extra $2800 even though I had him all in pre-flop with Q8 vs my AA. I then ended up losing with A5 vs K5. Ah well, I'm just about over it.

Tonight I played 3 multi's at 9pm but it seems that my cards have dried up. I went out pretty early in 1 of them and close to the bubble in the other 2.

I withdrew $6500 which pays off all my student debts and leaves me more than enough for summer holidays. It also gives me a good sized bankroll to build on.

    Bankroll: $5740.91

    That's all for now,

    -Richard

  • 5th May

Haven't written in this for ages.

Let's cut to the chase, I've been doing good. Cash games have been getting better and I'm up like $500 since the start of the month. Also, did this:

    WHOOP WHOOP!

And finally, I got into a fight with some kid.

    Little bastard lost though.

I'm going to be withdrawing a fair amount in the next couple of days which will completely write off my student debts and pay for my summer.

    Current bankroll: $8812.86

After the withdrawl I'll still have $4k or so left online so it's all good.

    Peace out,

    Richard

  • 22nd April- Back To My SAG Roots

That's right i'm going old school. I'm going to start playing mostly sit and go's during the daytime. The plan is to play $33 sag's, 2-4 tables at a time. I started this new venture with 3 games I just finished. Here are the results:

    Lost: http://www.pokerhand.org/?1023644
    Lost: http://www.pokerhand.org/?1023647
    And Lost: http://www.pokerhand.org/?1023657

In the second one I was pretty sure the guy was 3-betting kinda light and in my humble opinion it was a terrible call.

I won a few hundred bucks at Cincinatti's (Glasgow poker club) recently so I'm that much further away from having to get a job. I'm heading back down tonight for a wee game.

    Anyway's bankroll: $1414.20

Hopefully i'll get a bit of an upswing shortly.

    Later,
    -Richard
